Baideshik Rojgari - A Mobile Application for Android Devices
Baideshik Rojgari is a digital tool developed by Nepal's Department of Foreign Employment. The app is designed primarily to assist migrant workers who are returning to their jobs abroad, making the re-entry process simpler and more efficient.
With this, users can easily retrieve important details related to their employment abroad, such as passport details, sticker specifics, and lot information. The app also serves as a communication platform where the Department of Foreign Employment can post updates and important notices.
Established in 1971 under the Ministry of Industry, the Department of Labor was initially responsible for labor affairs. It was moved under the Ministry of Labor in 1981. Following the enforcement of the Foreign Employment Act in 1985, the department expanded its scope and responsibilities, leading to a name change to the Department of Labor and Employment Promotion. As the foreign employment sector grew in complexity, it necessitated a dedicated department to ensure security, management, and the protection of migrant workers' rights. Thus, the Department of Foreign Employment was established in 2008 as the primary organization responsible for monitoring foreign employment.
